In most cases, without any testing tools or conditions, we can roughly assess the quality of PVC steel wire pipes based on our senses of sight, smell, and touch.
1. Observe whether the pipe cavity is regular and whether the wall thickness is uniform. High-quality PVC steel wire pipes have a standard circular annular shape with uniform wall thickness on both the inner and outer edges. For example, a PVC steel wire pipe with an inner diameter of 89mm and a wall thickness of 7mm might have a wall thickness of 7.5mm at its thickest point and only 5.5mm at its thinnest. Under high pressure, this uneven stress can easily cause the PVC steel wire pipe to burst or deform, affecting its normal use.
2. Observe whether the PVC steel wire pipe wall contains air bubbles or other visible particles and whether it is colorless and transparent. High-quality PVC steel wire pipes have a crystal-clear wall without any impurities. Inferior PVC steel wire pipes may have a yellowish color due to improper processing, decomposition, aging, or improper long-term storage during production.
3. High-quality PVC steel wire pipes have no odor other than a slight plastic smell. Inferior PVC wire pipes have a pungent, unpleasant diesel odor, making them unbearable, especially in hot summer weather.
4. High-quality PVC wire pipes have smooth inner and outer walls with a good feel, while low-quality pipes are rougher.
5. When measuring wall thickness, both ends of the PVC wire pipe should be cut off, and the middle section should be used as a sample for testing. This prevents unscrupulous manufacturers from manipulating the pipe's thickness at the ends, resulting in a thinner wall.
6. Cut a few centimeters of wire from both ends of the PVC wire pipe and repeatedly fold it to test its strength and toughness. Poor-quality wire will break after one or two folds, while the wire in high-quality PVC wire pipe requires specialized tools to cut. The quality of the wire determines the overall quality of the pipe; PVC wire pipes with quality problems caused by the wire are prone to irreversible deformation.
